Vikings: 10 Most Hated Supporting Characters
2. Naad
After Ivar and Oleg left Kattegat in tatters, Ubbe and a small crew took to sea to seek a new home. After a long and arduous journey, they arrived in a land overflowing with vegetation and wildlife known as the Americas. Encountering a Native-American tribe soon after, Ubbe saw no reason to pillage them since food in the terrain was plentiful. Believing his people no longer needed to resort to plunder, Ubbe promised his new settlement would stand for peace and prosperity.
And then Ubbe's crewmate, Naad, nearly screwed up everything. After learning the natives possessed gold, Naad slaughtered one of them to steal valuables. When Ubbe explained to Naad that they no longer needed to embrace barbarism, Naad dismissed him, saying their people were defined by their savagery. To avoid the wrath of the tribe, Ubbe had Naad executed.
Ubbe's decision may have been harsh but it was absolutely necessary. Naad's needless kill could have resulted in the tribe slaughtering the Kattegat people, rendering the vikings extinct. What's worse is that Naad seemed to barely comprehend his actions could've cost his people the opportunity to live in peace for the first time in generations.
