Vikings: 10 Most Hated Supporting Characters
4. Odo
While Ragnar lay siege to Frankia, Emperor Charles regularly met with his nobleman, Count Odo, for consultation. Because of his military shrewdness, Odo deserved most of the credit for stopping the Northmen invading Paris. Because he showed more strategic prowess than the emperor himself, the noble appears to have all the workings of a hero.
But the conniving count harboured a well-hidden dark side. When he wasn't openly defying Charles's alliance with Rollo, Odo fantasised about having his wicked way with his leader's daughter.
As disturbing as that sounds, that's not even the worst thing about him. During his private time, the lascivious lord took to his private dungeon where he whipped his mistress, Therese, until he drew blood (or rather, she did). For some reason, Odo got off when Therese divulged her deepest secrets during these sessions.
Interestingly, Odo's fetish led to his downfall. When Therese encouraged her master to be whipped for a change, she demanded he reveal his own secrets. When he confessed that he intended to overthrow the emperor, Odo was executed. As horrible as it was to watch Odo being flogged to death, we can't pretend he didn't deserve it.
