WandaVision: 10 Burning Questions After Episodes 1 & 2

5. Will Grim Reaper Appear?

WandaVision Beekeeper
Marvel Comics

So far, WandaVision's story has shown few, if any, hints as to who the actual villain of the series will be. Though it may well be that Wanda is the one behind the creation of Westview, would she actually be classed as the series antagonist, or is there someone else set to take on that role?

The answer may come as a blink and you'll miss it reference to a character from the source material in the show's opening credits. As the animated Vision floats through his morning routine, an object that looks suspiciously like the headwear of an old Avengers villain can be seen.

Introduced way back in 1968, Eric Williams AKA Grim Reaper has crossed paths with Earth's Mightiest Heroes multiple times, and has a special connection with Vision in particular. In the source material, the android was created using Eric's brother, Wonder Man's brain patterns.

Of course, this is different to Vision's origin story in the MCU, but the connection could certainly be established between the two in a different way. This could be a hint to the villain soon making his way to Westview, but it could also be little more than an Easter egg. The first two episodes are packed with subtle nods to the source material, and this could just be another.
