Wandavision: Every Episode Ranked
1. On A Very Special Episode
The title says it all: This is a very special episode. It's filled with heartbreak, plot twists, and powerful emotional moments.
The episode sees Billy and Tommy age up multiple times. They start the episode as babies but before long become five-year-olds, and then ten. Then, they adopt a dog named Sparky, who runs away and unfortunately dies by the episode's end. The twins ask if Wanda can resurrect Sparky, but she declines, saying that this is an important lesson in how death cannot be reversed. However, Wanda forgets that lesson by the end of the episode, as her brother (or an alternate universe version of him) comes to visit. The shocking twist of bringing in Evan Peters for this role, rather than Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who played the character in the MCU, left audiences' jaws on the floor.
Additionally, Wanda and Vision start to fight in this episode. At work, Vision removes Norm from Wanda's enchantment and he freaks out. Vision confronts Wanda, and the two fight. This powerful scene shows that Wanda and Vision won't always be on the same page, even in their perfect world.
The SWORD plotline is also intense in this episode. Hayward sends a missile into the Hex to try and kill Wanda, but she dispatches it and exits the Hex, tossing the missile back at Hayward and SWORD. This is the first scene in the series where we see the same Wanda that apprehended Thanos and ripped Ultron's heart out - she's tough, powerful, and has no patience for their threats.
The midway point of the series has everything - new mysteries, new answers, Wanda's powers on full display, sitcom homages, comedy, drama, and an unpredictable ending that kept fans speculating. On a Very Special Episode is the best that Wandavision has to offer.
