Westworld: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

The tragedy of Teddy Flood is one of my favorite aspects of Westworld's debut season. Programmed to unconditionally love Dolores, Teddy will do anything his soul mate desires, regardless of whether or not he actually wants to.

When Ford programs the Wyatt backstory into Teddy, he acquires some mysterious demons that he attempts to work past as makes his way to Dolores. However, Dolores ends up being the cause of his issues when it is revealed that she is actually Wyatt.

The Dolores-Wyatt reveal initially only seems consequential to the Man in Black and Dolores herself, but in hindsight it makes Teddy's arc much more meaningful. When Arnold orders Dolores to kill all the hosts, she convinces Teddy to help her, and Teddy cannot resist because it goes against his programming.

Although he was able to repress these memories, they resurface in the form of the Wyatt narrative. When Dolores fatefully decides to murder the humans, Teddy watches in horror, realizing that she is Wyatt. And this time he does not partake in the mayhem.

Now whether or not this decision was a sign of consciousness has yet to be determined, but it's a powerful moment nonetheless, and it signals an interesting future for Mr. Flood.
