What The South Park Voice Actors Look Like In Real Life
3. Isaac Hayes
Voices: Chef
Still one of the most surprising but albeit impressive voice castings in television history, was that of Isaac Hayes' lengthy stint on the show. By the time he was voicing Chef during the show's infantile first steps in its first episode "Cartman Gets an Anal Probe" before subsequently making himself a mainstay in the series through its adolescence, Hayes had already made a rather prolific career as a pioneering voice of the 1970s in the department of soul music.
His image, too, was very much in alignment with the stylistic choices that his profile perpetuated.
At the beginning of the show, Hayes embodied the music that he had a hand in creating. He was soul personified, and this signature look would be carried from the 1970s all the way up to his untimely passing in 2008.
It would be only two years prior to this that Hayes' spell on the show would conclude, as his allegiance to his religion (or cult, depending on who you ask) Scientology was openly mocked in the episode "Trapped in the Closet", leading to the creators prematurely killing Chef in something of an overly gratuitous way - highlighting Parker and Stone's opinion on the aforementioned doctrine rather than their own personal opinions on Hayes as a person.
