Clive Revill, a legend of the stage and screen, appeared in The Next Generation's fourth season episode Q, Pid, as Guy of Gisbourne. His theatrical presence suited the role perfectly, as he was more than capable of standing alongside fellow Shakespearean actor Patrick Stewart.

Though he was overdubbed in the special edition of the film, Revill originated the vocal performance of Emperor Palpatine in The Empire Strikes Back, which was just one of an impressive collection of film, television, and stage performances in his career.

He was nominated for several Tony awards, as well as appearing alongside some of the greats of the twentieth century. Although he may be best remembered for his stage work, he also appeared in numerous voice-over roles in cartoons and video games. He appeared in Batman: The Animated Series, The Transformers, and several Star Wars video games as well.

He is survived by his daughter, Kate, from his second marriage.
