Young Justice: Outsiders – 8 Ups & 1 Down From Episodes 4-6

3. Some Answers, More Questions

Dick Grayson Barbara Gordon
DC Universe

The first three episodes set up a series of interesting directions for the show to take, remaining intentionally vague in certain areas to keep us guessing. This week's instalments, however, shed a little more light.

The season's main narrative revolves around Princess Tara's abduction at the hands of metahuman traffickers. Though the team discovered the traffickers' base, there was no sign of Tara, leading them to believe that she may have been killed. However, this week it was revealed that she is most certainly alive and could even be working as a meta for the League of Shadows.

Speaking of the League, Brion's search for Tara led him to Ra's Al Ghul - who revealed that he was no longer a member of the villainous faction and, even more shockingly, no longer part of The Light. Moreover, following Ra's' verbal altercation with Dick, the writers alluded to some jaw-dropping developments surrounding Nightwing's extended Bat-Family (more on that later).

However, they also revealed that Dick wasn't being forthcoming about everything either as he had been seeing none other than Barbara Gordon. Everybody loves a bit of comic-accuracy, and after alluding to it last week, this was a welcome development for the team's former leader. But why are they keeping their relationship a secret?

While this week's outings didn't progress the overall story a lot, they did partially answer some of the major questions posed in the premiere. However, they also increased the overall sense of mystery, leaving us with even more.
