10 Best UFC Fighters Of The Last Decade
9. Tyron Woodley
If you only followed the narrative that UFC President, Dana White, created about former UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley, you'd be forgiven for thinking that he was an overrated or a boring fighter.
However, a good look through his record will show that he's fought some of the toughest fighters the 170lb division has had to offer over the last 10 years. As someone who looked like they'd be more of a submission wrestler than a striker during the early part of their career, Woodley has turned into a ferocious knockout artist and has used that power to become one of the best welterweights of all time.
He's destroyed fighters like Josh Koscheck, Jay Hieron and Dong Hyun Kim, but it's the violent finish of Robbie Lawler that shows how brtual he is. It took the 37-year old less than half a round to leap across the Octagon, land a combination of punches that wouldn't look out of place in Tekken and rip the title away from Lawler.
His victories over Stephen Thompson and Demian Maia might not have been the prettiest, but he did what he had to do to retain his title against two extremely tough challengers and that deserves credit in itself.
