10 Former MMA Stars Who Have Surprisingly Normal Jobs

5. Cole Konrad - Commodities Broker

Once considered one of the best heavyweight prospects in the sport, Cole Konrad was a handful for anyone at 265lbs who stepped in the cage with him.

A decorated amateur wrestler out of the University of Minnesota, Konrad was twice crowned the NCAA Division One Champion, and was an All-American for all four years of his collegiate tenure.

With such a decorated wrestling pedigree, Konrad was recruited to train at Brock Lesnar's Team Deathclutch, alongside fellow heavyweight talents Pat Barry, Chris Tuchscherer, and Jon Madsen.

Konrad effectively transferred his grappling skills into MMA, smothering his opponents with a wrestling-based offensive and capturing the Bellator Heavyweight Championship the same year he debuted in just his seventh professional fight.

However, after just 18 months and two fights as the reigning champion, Konrad unexpectedly announced that he would retire from the sport.

Konrad later became an agricultural commodities broker and explained that he wanted to provide for his family and that the financial uncertainty in MMA just wasn't for him.
