3. Ronda Rousey's Arm Bar

Ronda Rousey will forever go down as the woman who put MMA on the map for females everywhere, making the world stand up and take notice of just how bad these ladies were inside the octagon.

Laying waste to her entire division, Miesha Tate, Liz Carmouche and Alexis Davies all fell to the Baddest Woman on the Planet. The women of the Bantamweight division eventually caught up with her, but let's focus on what made tool made Rousey the household name she is today.

The armbar.

When you've got a weapon this powerful to fall back on, it's of little surprise to find that Rousey made it her calling card. Using her Olympic Bronze Medal winning Judo prowess to flip and throw her opponents onto their backs, Ronda would then transition into any one of her variations of armbar and wrench on the limb until it was rendered useless.

In particular, if you watch the way that Ronda slowly dismantled Caramouche's arm and prised it from her at UFC 157, you can see how relentless and effective the move could be (Oh, and Ronda had a dislocated jaw at the time).

Watching her sickening submission victories via armbar is still not for the faint hearted, but is clear evidence of the trump card that Rousey held over a division for years.
