10 Times Feet Were Better Than Fists Inside Of The Octagon

5. Pete Williams Vs. Mark Coleman (UFC 17)

The Heavyweight division always possesses the potential for a jaw-dropping knockout on the turn of a dime.

That isn't to say that you're automatically less likely to see a KO in a lighter weight-class. It's just that when guys this size throw shots at each other, disaster is never far away - for one person, at least.

Examples of this heavy explosiveness can be traced all the way back to the early days of the promotion and one sudden KO in particular has definitely earned its place on this feet-championing list.

In May 1998, Pete Williams took on Mark Coleman in a laboured Heavyweight clash at UFC 17. A sizeable amount of the fight was fought on the floor, with both men expending more energy than they'd have liked in trying to get themselves into a favourable position on the ground.

Also, this came at a time when fighters were forced to fight for 12 minutes straight, without the fight being broken up into three rounds, so - after the pair had fought to a stalemate in that period - we were then forced into overtime.

Williams, sensing he may not have the stamina to go on for much longer, then unleashed a barrage of sickening shots on Coleman before picking his spot with a nasty head kick.

Coleman had no answer to the shot and crumbled into the side of the cage. Regardless of the fact that the two fighters were wearing footwear, this kick made all the other punches thrown in the contest look like child's play.
