10 UFC Fights That You Cannot Miss In May
6. Antonio Carlos Jr Vs. Ian Heinisch - UFC Fight Night 151
With the UFC's 185lb division heating up due to an influx of new blood, this fun scrap between talented grappler Antonio Carlos Junior and well-rounded grinder Ian Heinisch could help determine another contender within the weight class.
It took a couple of years and a two drops in weight class, but it finally seems like Antonio Carlos Junior has found his home at middleweight. Undefeated since 2016, the Brazilian is on a five-fight win streak with four wins coming via submission.
That shouldn't be a surprise considering Carlos Junior is a legit black belt who will be competing at ADCC in September. ADCC is like the World Cup for jiu-jitsu and only the best of the best get to compete, which should show that he's at an elite level when it comes to grappling.
Ian Heinisch is a pretty good fighter who is athletic and has the sort of well-rounded skill-set that would make him a problem for opponents at the lower end of the UFC rankings. That being said, he's not great in any one area, so it'll be interesting to watch a specialist like Carlos Junior go against someone who is jack of all trades, but master of none.
