10 UFC Fights That You Cannot Miss In May

2. Cub Swanson Vs. Shane Burgos

If you take a look at Cub Swanson's recent run of form, it looks like the long time featherweight contender is at the tail end of his career. Three losses in a row and no victory since 2017 has him on the brink of being catapulted out of the top 10 rankings for the first time in years.

However, don't lose faith in Swanson just yet. Although he's not looked fantastic as of late, he's come up against some of the best competition in his weight class. Losing to title contenders like Brian Ortega, Frankie Edgar and Renato Moicano doesn't necessarily mean that he's not a good fighter anymore.

His opponent, Shane Burgos, has looked good so far in his UFC career, with his latest win against Kurt Holobaugh standing out in particular. He's got good boxing skills and isn't afraid to stand and trade in the pocket. He's also got underrated skills on the ground and has a sneaky submission game.

However, Swanson is a huge step-up in quality for him and one that he shouldn't take lightly. He's fought and beaten some of the best fighters in his weight class and has always been on the cusp of a title shot.

While Burgos has shown that he's talented, he's not shown that he's on the level of the fighters who have beaten Swanson yet. This is his big opportunity to do so and become a new contender in the division.
