9. Sean “The Muscle Shark” Sherk

Sean "The Muscle Shark" Sherk is a former UFC Lightweight Champion. With wins over the likes of Nick Diaz and Kenny Florian, the retired pay-per-view headliner is one of the most underrated fighters of his era.

He also had one of the most bizarre nicknames in the UFC. What exactly is "A Muscle Shark'? It sounds like a villain from a bad '80s action film or a gaudy monster truck. The fact that Sherk tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs made this terrible nickname even more unfortunate. After all, it's hard for fans to get behind a "Muscle Shark" who used PEDs to get his muscles. He was even stripped of the UFC title as a result of a failed drug test.

His issues with PEDs is likely the reason the name Sean Sherk is rarely mentioned these days — unless it's a discussion about horrible nicknames.
