UFC: 10 Embarrassingly Awful Nicknames MMA Fighters Actually Used

5. Miesha “Cupcake” Tate

Miesha Tate is a former UFC champ and was one of the promotion's first female stars. Her feud with Ronda Rousey helped put women's MMA on the map.

In 2012, Tate, an avid baker, decided to change her nickname from "Takedown" to "Cupcake." Just when women's MMA was really starting to gain momentum, one of the sport's biggest stars decided to go with a moniker that reinforced old gender-based stereotypes. It's also one of the least intimidating names a fighter can come up with.

Tate was an amazing fighter and remains a great ambassador for the sport, but the "Cupcake" nickname" was definitely a dud.
