UFC 242 Predictions

3. Islam Makhachev Vs. Davi Ramos

We've got an intriguing match-up in the lightweight division, as top prospects, Islam Makhachev and Davi Ramos battle inside the Octagon. A win for either man could see them catapulted into into the top 10 rankings at 155lb. Although this is a fight between two very talented grapplers, they've both got very different styles which will have huge outcome on how this fight plays out.

Much like his teammate, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Makhachev is a great wrestler who has some stifling top pressure. He's shown in nearly all of his fights in the UFC that when he gets a hold of an opponent, he can shut their entire game down.

While Makhachev is a dangerous submission threat, Ramos is at a different level when it comes to tapping out opponents. The 2015 Abu Dhabi Combat Club is highly respected Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and has managed to transition that over to his MMA career. While it's unlikely that he'll land his patented flying armbar on Makhachev, he is extremely good at getting back control and attacking from there.

Although Ramos has the advantage when it comes to getting submissions, Makhachev is just so good at taking his opponent's game away from them. While it's hard to see the 27-year old finishing Ramos, he should be able to do enough to stop him from locking up anything too dangerous.
