UFC 245 Predictions

2. Max Holloway Vs. Alexander Volkanovski

Witnessing the growth and high level of performance from featherweight title challenger, Alexander Volkanovski, since he made his UFC debut back in 2016 has been extremely fun to watch. The tank-like Australian has bulldozed his way through a who's who of opponents at 145lb, using his athleticism and aggression to overwhelm them.

He's not just a physical phenom who can overpower his opponents though. His overall MMA game has far more depth than that. The 31-year old has some extremely slick striking combinations, especially anything ending with an overhand right. Many opponents who have been caught by these attacks have either ended up extremely hurt or staring up at the lights wondering where they are.

He truly is a tough challenge for anyone in the division, but Max Holloway is just too crafty for him. The current UFC featherweight champion is dangerous in all aspects of fighting and relentless in his pursuit of the finish.

His striking accuracy, volume and footwork allows him to shut down his opponent's attacks before they're even close to beginning them. His wrestling defence makes him a nuisance for anybody trying to take him down, which would be the Australian's main path to victory.

Volkanovski might be Holloway's most dangerous threat in awhile, but he won't have enough to beat the Hawaiian and take the belt from him

Max Holloway via unanimous decision.
