10 Absolute Best Matches WWE Could Present In 2018
2. AJ Styles Vs. Kurt Angle
Unlike Angle versus Bryan, Angle versus AJ is a match that WWE could have pulled the trigger on 12 months ago, when the Olympian first returned to the company following more than a decade away.
For inexplicable reasons, they chose not to. Kurt settled into his role in the Monday Night Raw hot-seat, while The Phenomenal One remained over on SmackDown. Even at Survivor Series, where the two brands clashed in a series of five-on-five bouts, they never got in the ring together.
But that was then, and this is now. Angle has now fought three matches since his Hall of Fame appearance, and the most recent of them - a tag team match involving Ronda Rousey - is no way for him to bow out. He needs a proper singles bout.
So why not do it against AJ Styles? The duo have already shown in their time together in the Impact Zone that they have plenty of chemistry, and if anyone can carry a long-in-the-tooth veteran to a four-star match or higher it's the reigning WWE Champion.
