10 Accidental 2-In-1 Wrestling Figures
4. Raven/Lenny Lane
WCW Bruisers - Raven
Raven Likeness: 6/10
Lane Likeness: 6/10
Raven is many things; a hardcore icon, a nihilistic brooding genius, one tough S.O.B., and effortlessly cool. This figure embodies exactly none of these traits. Any likeness is decimated by those puckered lips that recall the '00s makeup trend of obscuring lips with foundation and a swipe of lip gloss. It seems a rib that the figure came packaged with a trashcan.
Though WCW Bruisers' Raven should be "nevermore", it makes a good likeness of a '90s WCW midcarder.
Lenny Lane was essentially Tyler Breeze if you replaced everything good with pigtails, denim cut-offs, and pedestrian skills between the ropes. However, the character was never meant to be taken seriously. Along with his partner Lodi, The West Hollywood Blondes were a slapstick-level satire of the classic tag team, adding amped up homoeroticism and lollypops. While Kevin Nash as booker approved the idea of blatant-yet-implied lovers, Lenny and Lodi were soon also revealed to be brothers, which certainly helped put them over as heels.
Despite Lane having a short stint with the Cruiserweight Championship, he never received an official action figure.
