10 AEW Revolution 2021 Impulse Reactions

9. The Young Bucks (c) Vs. The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho & MJF)

Starting quickly as if to establish a pace Chris Jericho and MJF had to slow down, The Young Bucks' Tag Team Championship defence against The Inner Circle's chief doubles act was a further reminder of Matt and Nick Jackson's in-ring maturity in the place of all the aerial artistry.

The duo don't get enough credit for how good they are at structuring something resembling a "normal" tag team match, but this was a heel/babyface belter the immortalised Jim Crockett Jr himself would have been proud to promote.

Matt and Nick got their anger out early, allowing the contest to follow a traditional formula distant from the blood feud build. Having utilised the angle heading in to the match, it then set about dealing with the ones due to matter on the backside. MJF couldn't get it done with the Heatseeker, Wardlow and Jericho had a deadly miscommunication, and the Jacksons got the thigh-slapping in before Jericho was put down with the Meltzer Driver.

This was an Inner Circle failing as much as it was another strong showing for the Champions, with nothing neglected in the process - and it doesn't stop being great to see.
