2. John Cena
Whenever any big name from outside World Wrestling Entertainment is on their way to the company, no conversation about possible matches can happen without mentioning the man that has defined WWE for the last 10 years. I'm talking of course about John Cena. Is there a more 'WWE' professional wrestler on the planet than John Cena? He is the very definition of it. His matches, whilst far better than people have given him credit for for years, revolve around a very simple moveset and story. Cena will be beaten down for a while, make an incredible comeback, hit his signature moves and goodnight. His character is almost singularly aimed at merchandise sales. He is the image of corporate wrestling. AJ Styles is the opposite. Styles is the man from outside the major corporate world, the man who made himself the biggest name in his niche through his ability and performances. He did it without ever being recognised as a decent promo, relying solely on what he can do in the ring. He is the image of wrestling as an art form. John Cena vs. AJ Styles is the styles clash (hardee har har) that works. Two polar opposite of the wrestling world that are closer than they should be.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
