10 Amazing Wrestling Matches You’ve Never Seen

4. Kurt Angle Vs. Owen Hart

As with all great wrestling matches, it's the story leading into this one that makes it what it is. Not because there was some burgeoning rivalry between the pair or the blowoff to a captivating feud, but because it would be Owen Hart's last singles match in front of a TV audience. Albeit in a match that was never televised.

Angle, at the time, was being included on the circuit to complement his training in the Memphis' Power Pro Wrestling developmental territory, with a debut planned for the coming November. He wasn't the technical machine he'd later become, but the consensus in the company was that he was learning incredibly fast and light-years ahead of others with his level of experience.

Putting him with a man as experienced as Hart produced fireworks. The two worked (according to those there) the slickest, most polished match of the entire evening, and everybody left in no doubt over A) Hart's pedigree or B) Angle's future.

Sadly, this match came a mere 13 days before Hart's fatal accident at Over The Edge.
