10 Awesome Ideas That Were Cut From WWE
4. Chyna Wins The Big One
The late Joanie Laurer was a true trailblazer during her time as Chyna.
First woman to enter the Royal Rumble. First woman to enter King of the Ring. First woman to win the Intercontinental Championship. Chyna did it all and became a huge draw in the process.
The Ninth Wonder of the World very nearly had another accolade in her possession, as it has long been rumoured that she came very close to becoming the first female WWE Champion in history.
The star's former manager Anthony Anzaldo claimed that Vince McMahon once offered to make Chyna his World Champion. She declined upon hearing she wouldn't be allowed to pose for Playboy if she said yes, bringing that idea to an end.
Vince's plan manifested slightly on TV when Chyna won a match to become number one contender to the belt at SummerSlam 1999, but she quickly lost that spot to Mick Foley.
Only one woman has ever held a major promotion's top prize and that happened in 2020. To think that it could have happened two decades earlier to one of wrestling's biggest ever female stars is simply mind-boggling.
