10 Awesome Wrestlers With Surprisingly Bad WrestleMania Records
7. Ric Flair (1-4)
He might be one of the biggest stars in professional wrestling history, but despite his pedigree, Ric Flair’s WrestleMania record is pretty embarrassing. Flair was initially pegged to face Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VIII in 1992, but WWE were never able to put the match together. He faced Randy Savage instead, losing the WWE Championship he’d won at the Royal Rumble, scurrying back to WCW before the following year’s event.
Flair returned to WWE following the Invasion angle, and faced The Undertaker at WrestleMania X8. He lost, of course, but picked-up the sole ‘Mania win of his career when Evolution defeated the Rock & Sock Connection at WM XX. Two years later, Flair returned to action in the Money In The Bank Ladder Match, but was unsuccessful. He’d then face Shawn Michaels in his famous retirement match at ‘Mania XXIV, losing one of the most emotional matches in WWE history.
The Nature Boy’s WrestleMania career would likely look a lot healthier if he hadn’t returned to WCW. He was already 42 by the time he joined WWE in the first place, and in spending so much of his prime with the opposition, Flair cost himself many a WrestleMania moment. Regardless, he didn’t exactly cover himself with ‘Mania glory during his WWE tenure, with his retirement match standing-out as his biggest highlight.
