10 Awesome WWE Moments We Wish Had Happened Earlier

The announcement of the inaugural Women's Royal Rumble remains one of the most important and emotional steps towards gender equality in WWE, giving the hard working and exceptional talents in the women's division the same spotlight as the men during the January supershow. It was a beautiful moment and the reactions from the women inside the ring as the match was announced still sends shivers down the spine, a long awaited and cathartic moment for every woman who'd ever fought for women to have a more substantive position in the company.

Yet, it happened after 30 years of Royal Rumbles only for the men (with only a scarce female presence over the decades) and after several years of the women achieving mainstream presence in the company. It would have been truly special if during the emergence of this movement for the women, the company immediately backed them and gave them a major opportunity to further the division, instead of taking their time.

But regardless, it's still inspiring for every young girl into wrestling to get to see their favourite female superstars in the Rumble stipulation, even if it could have happened a little sooner.
