10 Baffling WWE Creative Ideas Fans Still Can't Work Out
7. WWE (Don't) Want Ryder
Speaking of which, Zack Ryder's plight has been well documented. There was a time when WWE arenas were booming with chants of, "We want Ryder", as fans screamed at the top of their voices to let top brass know they had faith in the Long Island native. Unfortunately for the audience, WWE themselves did not, and didn't see Zack as a top star. Yes, WWE played along for a little while, acknowledging Ryder's YouTube show, and even making him United States Champion on PPV, but his time in the sun went sour fairly quickly. Throughout his push, it was clear that WWE didn't really want to put Ryder in the position he was in, and would rather have had others take his place. This was evidenced by the fact that the company couldn't wait to pull him out of the limelight, after they'd made the guy look like a total dork, in an awkward love storyline with Eve Torres. Quite why WWE felt the need to wield this proverbial sword of power over their own fanbase is pretty confusing. After all, surely it'd be better to give the paying customer what they want?
