10 Best Booked Wrestling Babyfaces Of 2020
Drew McIntyre has been one hell of a champion...
In WWE, the good babyface has been lightning in a bottle. For every Drew McIntyre, there's a Roman Reigns, a John Cena or even The Miz during his disappointing face run.
There are numerous reasons why babyfaces don't tend to do well in WWE. Mainly it is the booking. WWE seem incapable of propelling a star to the top of the card without ruining some of the aura that surrounds them. However, there are some stars that mange to shine through.
WWE can create badass champions. Seth Rollins was the hottest babyface in the company during 2018. His Monday Night Rollins gimmick was incredible, and he proved himself to be one of the best workhorse babyfaces in the company.
Enter All Elite Wrestling. This company knows how to craft babyface stories and tell them beautifully. They have some of the best on the planet and the runs some of their talent have had have been astonishing. Gruelling matches and gritty storylines make AEW the best in the world.
No matter the company, there have been some phenomenal babyfaces in 2020, with some great stories and matches under their belts.
10. Daniel Bryan
Daniel Bryan started off 2020 with a bang. The former WWE Champion took on "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt at the Royal Rumble in a brutal strap match. The fight was gritty and managed to put over both Bryan and The Fiend in a way that few other of The Fiend's challengers had been able to do.
Following his feud with Wyatt, Bryan then entered into a feud with Drew Gulak, which again led to a terrific match at Elimination Chamber. The match was technically brilliant and innovative, which made for a nice change considering the rest of WWE's main roster product.
From there, Bryan went on to have another stellar match on PPV, only this time against Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn. This was somewhat of a dream match in WWE that actually managed to deliver, even without a crowd.
Bryan has been booked to his strengths in 2020 He has been able to have his kind of matches against superstars that he is willing to put over. Wyatt, Gulak and Zayn all looked like much bigger stars after their encounters with Bryan, and that is all on him.
This is the way to use Bryan. He is now a veteran in WWE and he can be used to put over these new characters. It seems he will be entering into a feud with Tribal Chief Roman Reigns, which could definitely elevate Reigns even higher than he is now.
