10 Best Champions Of The Worst Titles In Wrestling

6. Alex Shelley - CZW Jr. Heavyweight Championship

What makes "hardcore" matches exciting is that they go above the baseline. When the baseline is "blood, broken lightbulbs, blood...and more broken lightbulbs", there aren't many places to go from there. Well, unless staple guns and botched highspots are considered a step up. Being the CZW champion isn't exactly a resume booster. Even lesser so is being the former holder of a title no longer deemed necessary by CZW. The Jr. Heavyweight Championship became defunct in 2012, much to the chagrin of wrestling fans the world over. Of the 26 wrestlers to win the title, the most noteworthy was TNA alumnus Alex Shelley. In truth, it is a very even call between Shelley and former TNA colleague Sonjay Dutt. The coin landed heads...Shelley it is.
