10 Best Dark Characters In WWE History

9. Evil Doink The Clown

C'mon now, it's ok to admit you were terrified of Doink the Clown when he turned heel and became the most evil clown ever to walk the face of the earth... That laugh at the start of his evil theme was enough for every single five-year-old to simultaneously wet their beds, wasn't it? The Doink character arrived in WWE as a face as you would have expected, although the reaction of the WWE Universe was less than flattering so the company turned him heel, hoping to capitalise on that inexplicable fear of clowns a large majority of the general public have for men in face paint and wigs. This was the coming of age for the character as he would go on to have a very short yet fruitful run in WWE. He would play tricks and pranks on fans and wrestlers alike which really added something to a show and made for an unnerving experience for the largely child-based crowd. Unfortunately, Matt Borne (RIP) - the man who donned the comic ensemble - had his own personal demons and was released. The character was then made into a permanent face and died a sorry death. Although, none of us got sick of seeing Doink return around 1,000,000 times over the next 15 or so years, did we? Nevertheless, the evil Doink persona was certainly one of those things that kept you awake at night... The psychological issues that underlay a character like that aren't even worth delving into. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhRnWMBcNQQ
