Another character that didn't appear to be too dark from the outset, it was what he said that had you reaching for the light switch... Jake Roberts had the most unique promo style in the history of the business. His delivery was slow and methodical and in such a way that had you believe he was capable for seriously bad things. He was pretty hard to watch at times which is testament to his skills on the mic and in the ring. The Snake's true darkside was unearthed during a feud between the Ultimate Warrior and The Undertaker. Warrior - understandably due to the way his opponent hit the scene in WWE - was worried about facing the Deadman and sought the help of someone equally as dark and deranged; step up Jake 'The Snake'. Believe it or not, the image above shows Roberts helping out Warrior (he also locked him in a room full of snakes). The master of the DDT thought that if he could get the Ultimate one to conquer a number of testing scenarios that he would be able to deal with the Phenom no problem. Each to their own... A training regime similar to the ones both Shawn Michaels and Bret 'The Hitman' Hart were put through ahead of their Ironman match at WrestleMania XII would have been more logical... But that wasn't the Roberts way!
