7. Survivor Series - 1987

What a unique event this was. The first ever Survivor Series consisted of just four matches, all taking the elimination style we know and love today. We saw at 2014's event how good they can be so the minds of the WWE Universe back in 1987 must have been on the brink of exploding as this card played out. Survivor Series was the only pay per view the WWF put on apart from WrestleMania, which meant it needed to make an impact. The opening match of the night saw Randy Savage, Jake Roberts, Ricky Steamboat, Brutus Beefcake, and Jim Duggan defeat The Honky Tonk Man, Hercules, Danny Davis, Ron Bass, and Harley Race. The Honky Tonk Man was the only member of his team remaining and suffered a three on one beat down for a couple of minutes before eliminating himself from the match. The next match saw a divas bout involving The Fabulous Moolah, Rockin' Robin, Velvet McIntyre and The Jumping Bomb Angels facing off against Sensational Sherri, The Glamour Girls, Donna Christianello and Dawn Marie. The Jumping Bombs' Noriyo Tateno hit a flying clothesline on The Glamour Girls' Judy Martin to get the pin fall and win the match. Next we saw arguably the greatest match in the event's history as a twenty man tag team eliminator took place. Strike Force, The Young Stallions, The Fabulous Rougeaus, The Killer Bees, and The British Bulldogs defeated The Hart Foundation, The Islanders, Demolition, The Bolsheviks, and The Dream Team. The depth in the tag team division in those days was simply unrivalled. The final match of the evening saw André the Giant, One Man Gang, King Kong Bundy, Butch Reed, and Rick Rude conquer the team of Hulk Hogan, Paul Orndorff, Don Muraco, Ken Patera, and Bam Bam Bigelow. Bam Bam Bigelow took a sever looking kick from Andre to loose the match. What a pay per view.
