One of the finest comedy characters of his generation, Santino Marella carved a niche for himself on the WWE roster by being the resident funny man. His clownish antics were complete show; Marella was actually capable of being an accomplished, serious wrestler when he wished. That wasn't his role however.

At the 2009 Royal Rumble, Santino's entire purpose was summed up in just a few seconds. Entering late in the 30-man over the top rope match, he marched down the aisle with a menacing look on his face, ready for action. Seconds later, his determination turned to embarrassment, as he cried out that he "wasn't ready".

As soon as Marella entered the ring, he was hit with a clothesline by Kane. This sent him hurtling over the top rope and out of the Rumble, breaking records for the quickest elimination. Even the wrestlers brawling inside the ring looked perplexed, selling the fact that Santino had fluffed his big moment.

Marella pleaded with the ringside referees to give him another shot, before giving in and heading back down the aisle he had jogged down just seconds before.
