During the hype video designed to add drama to the match, Vince McMahon assessed that The Ultimate Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan was akin to the most powerful forces in the galaxy colliding. It was classic-era WWF at its finest, speaking about wrestlers as though they were Gods.

This angle had to be taken with the WrestleMania VI main event, because it was a rare babyface vs. babyface collision in the company. Warrior and Hogan were both incredibly popular, and it seemed clear that McMahon aimed to supplant the latter with his colourful new vision for the coming decade of the 1990s.

Warrior won, but that wasn't the lasting image of WrestleMania VI. Returning to the ring, Hogan graciously handed the WWF Heavyweight Title to his peer, knowing all eyes would be on him as he solemnly retreated backstage. By grabbing the attention, Hogan had also nabbed Warrior's spotlight.

It was a master at work, as Hulk knew fans would remember that moment more than his prior defeat to Warrior.
