But we’ll close out this list with one of the underlying
theme’s from this week’s show; Dean Ambrose’s search for revenge.
Having taken that earlier superkick from Ziggler, Ambrose was up-front in letting his challenger know that as a result, he owed him one. But what initially seemed like a passing remark was revisited in the closing moments of the show, as Ambrose caught Ziggler unaware and nailed him with Dirty Deeds.
It was a nice piece of continuity to bring down the curtain on another well-written show, but on top of that it’s another twist in the Ambrose/Ziggler rivalry.
What initially appeared to be a filler feud is slowly but surely becoming one of the highlights of the company’s weekly television. Not that that should come as a surprise, given that it’s the WWE World title programme, but either way it’s refreshing to see so much effort being placed into selling this feud for SummerSlam.
