10 Best Things That Ever Happened During Wrestling Commercial Breaks

7. Rusev Vs Sin Cara Doesn’t Make It Past The Break

Remember remembering the WWE app?

WWE does, but they evidently weren't exactly thrilled with the lack of interest in their last attempt to make people remember it when Kofi Kingston upended Cesaro. They subsequently sent Rusev and Sin Cara out to have an entire match on it instead.

To reset - on August 14th 2014, USA Network went to a commercial break ahead of Cara and the 'Bulgarian Brute's contest, then returned to Raw to find the match already done and dusted.

The commentary team did an admirable job of sharing their incredulity that a bout could wrap quick enough that Raw would have already rolled on by the time the TV fans came back, but they were the only ones this actually impacted.

Think about it - app viewers were already app viewers, gobbling up every last second of Raw past the point where they felt any semblance of exclusivity. Those at home around the idiot box might have had a furrowed brow for a second or two, but the match was so short and insignificant that instead of feeling like they’d missed out, it probably felt like precious time saved.

A squash from the Bermuda Triangle, then. Which is perhaps where that app instruction plane with The Bellas on eventually went.
