10 Best Wrestling Matches Of The Week (July 18)

Like expected, the U.S. Title has been the source of the best wrestling available, but the format was change slightly this week. Instead of a straightforward challenge against John Cena and his belt, the three men who have wanted it the most fought in a match to decide who would face Cena immediately after. Kevin Owens, Cesaro, and Rusev all battled it out for that opportunity.

While the three men were all still involved, there were a couple of creative spots. One moment saw Cesaro being the Powerbomb base in a Tower of Doom corner move. Another great spot had Cesaro double-German suplexing his opponents. Cesaro even pulled out a corkscrew dive to the outside to take out both men. Cesaro might not be winning all of these matches but he's been so dynamic and entertaining along the way.

Since Cena and Owens face each other at Battleground, Owens smartly called it quits midway through this bout. The remaining two wrestlers continued to battle it out with a lot of toughness.

The crowd is won over on Cesaro and when he had Rusev in the Sharpshooter, they begged the Bulgarian to tap out. It wasn't meant to be, though. Rusev caught him with a stiff kick later in the match to win.

Rusev was far too worn out in his eventual U.S. Championship match and lost to Cena.
