10 Best WWE Attitude Era PPVs

7. Royal Rumble 2001

Now this is a perfect pay-per-view. The closest thing to a bad match this show has is Ivory v Chyna, but that still did wonders to Chyna over as a babyface and the Right to Censor over as the most annoying bad guys on the show. Edge & Christian had another great match with The Dudley Boys at a time when it seemed neither team could ever have a bad match, and the WWF Championship match between Triple H and Kurt Angle was not only an excellent wrestling match, but had about four separate storylines weaving through it. The show-stealer as undoubtedly Chris Jericho v Chris Benoit in a ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship. Both men pulled out all the stops to prove they were A+ players, and Jericho's Walls of Jericho to Benoit on top of the ladders is one of the most memorable spots in ladder match history. The show is near perfect even without the Rumble itself, but thankfully 2001 is one of the best Rumble matches ever. It has a good mix of comedy with Drew Carey, The Honkey Tonk Man and the Hardcore division, but doesn't skimp on drama or action either. This is the year where Kane set his elimination record, and by giving him that record it meant that Stone Cold's eventual elimination of him to win meant even more. As The Attitude Era was winding down, Royal Rumble 2001 stands as a great collection of what made many people fall in love with wrestling in the first place. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GizoiVNCGRU
