10 Best WWE Pay-Per-View Debuts Ever
3. Kane (Badd Blood 1997)
After awful spells as Isaac Yankem and the 'fake' Diesel, being cast as The Undertaker's burned brother Kane may have seemed like another short-lived gig for Glenn Jacobs. The character certainly seemed like a cartoonish attempt to undermine 'Taker against another monster after years of failed projects like Giant Gonzales and 'The Underfaker'.
Literally ripping the door of opportunity from its hinges, Kane rampaged onto the set of Badd Blood in October 1997 and interfered in the first ever Hell In A Cell match between Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. The months of hyperbolic build up on the mic from Paul Bearer had been worth it, because Kane looked like a nightmare come to life.
By the time he had hit Undertaker with a Tombstone Piledriver and stormed off, fans wanted to know more about Kane. A character which could have been considered old hat in a company that was quickly switching to show more 'Attitude' was suddenly one of the most curious on the entire roster. What a first impression.
