5. Cesaro

The Swiss Superstar was conspicuous by his absence on the road to WrestleMania despite being cleared to return to action before the mammoth event. He wasted little time making a name for himself in the immediate aftermath of the spectacular, returning to the squared circle in a Fatal 4-Way match to determine a No. 1 contender to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Though he lost, he turned in an impassioned performance, setting up a template for how the first half of his year would go.

Cesaro has not done a lot of winning since coming back to the promotion, but he has repeatedly turned in some of the best matches of the night, as witnessed in his series against The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship and a recent string of bouts against the likes of Kevin Owens, Alberto Del Rio and Sami Zayn.

One notable win did come against Chris Jericho on a June episode of Monday Night Raw. In that match, he paid tribute to former tag team partner Tyson Kidd with a Sharpshooter that forced a tapout of the former world heavyweight champion.

With the Raw/SmackDown split about to take effect, Cesaro figures to play a key role on whichever roster he lands. With more opportunities to appear in high-profile matches, and more concentrated effort on him by WWE Creative, expect to see Cesaro remain one of the elite workers in sports-entertainment's greatest promotion.
