Even though Triple H is Vince McMahon's son-in-law, that hasn't stopped the pair from being at loggerheads over the years. Firstly, Vince was irate that Hunter 'broke kayfabe' during the infamous Curtain Call incident at Madison Square Garden in 1996. This directly led to the abandonment of Triple H's big push, and all plans to make him King Of The Ring were cancelled. Later, despite being closer personally, both men have had quite a few arguments. Backstage at a Monday Night Raw taping in 2012, 'The Game' got in Vince's face about not having his finger on the pulse of what the audience wants anymore. Seemingly frustrated at the lack of fresh ideas, Triple H was incensed by McMahon's lack of acknowledgement towards the problems plaguing WWE. On another occasion, Triple H noted during a media appearance that clashes with McMahon are common, because both men care so much about the company. Saying that the pressure on him to perform is heightened due to his association to the McMahons, Triple H and Vince haven't always been on the best of terms, family or not.
