Chris Jericho was in a strange place when he first joined the then-WWF back in 1999. Severely unhappy with his standing in WCW, Jericho was hopeful that he could force his way into the top line mix with his new employer. At first, that was a frustrating process, because the Canadian failed to live up to what Vince McMahon and other management felt he had initially promised. Relatively quickly after making the jump to the WWF, 'Y2J' was in hot water behind the scenes. Calling his new wrestler to a meeting, McMahon lost the rag and informed Jericho that he was failing badly. Ever the brazen type, Jericho reacted negatively to the news, and didn't appreciate being blasted by the boss. This wouldn't be the only time the pair would lock horns. Years later, Chris Jericho was working a part-time schedule with the promotion. Agreeing to host a game show called 'Downfall', the wrestler kept it from Vince, because he didn't want WWE controlling his outside interests. McMahon was furious over being locked out, and the pair had an argument so heated that they practically agreed to fight one another.
