10 Big WWE Returns That Could Happen In 2022
2. Ronda Rousey
Amongst the most variable WWE comebacks on this list is Ronda Rousey's.
Rousey and husband Travis Browne welcomed daughter La’akea Makalapuaokalanipõ to the world on 27 September. The impact that pregnancy and giving birth takes on a woman's body is often underestimated by male wrestling fans, who were calling for Becky Lynch to return in the 2021 Royal Rumble, eight weeks after her daughter, Roux, was born. Becky ended up waiting a further seven months, but everyone is different. Rousey's timeframe could well be longer.
If there is even a timeframe at all. The former Raw Women's Champion recently claimed she doesn't know if she's still under WWE contract, which raises further questions on her future. Ronda, at best, has seemed indifferent to returning since bowing out in April 2019, though her comments on WWE's "ungrateful idiot" fans could be interpreted as a heat-building exercise for a heel run.
Regardless, Rousey has more name value than anyone else WWE could feasibly bring back to its women's division in 2022. A singles match with Lynch remains on the table - and would likely be seen as a potential interest-popper for WrestleMania (or another big pay-per-view).
