Being a hero doesn't have to be all underdog scrappiness and cheerful smiling. Aleister Black earns his cheers the old-fashioned way - by kicking ass. Armed with a killer entrance, a cool pose that he can backflip into and some of the strongest strikes in WWE, Aleister Black is just so awesome that there's nothing you can do but want more and more of him, leading to cheers and cheers.

The most popular finishers are impactful and can strike at any moment, and the lethal Black Mass kick definitely fits those categories. The knowledge that he might swiftly end things at any moment just adds to the sheer awe that surrounds the man and makes him a figure of constant celebration.

As much as we might like our plucky and courageous babyfaces, modern day WWE is missing its Stone Cold and Undertaker figures. No cheering, no 'I'm just so pleased to be here!' attitude - sometimes in wrestling you want to root for the absolute badass who's going to walk into the ring and take care of business.

Aleister Black fits this mould more effectively than any recent competitor in NXT that we've seen, and it shows in the exuberant reaction that he receives from the crowd. In many ways he's the man that WWE have tried and failed to make Roman Reigns into - the stoic, all-conquering hero who intimidates his enemies and wins inspiration from the fans.

Plus, you have to wonder that maybe if you don't cheer him, he'll come and victimise you next.
