Victory Road 2011 was already an underwhelming TNA pay-per-view come main event time. AJ Styles vs. Matt Hardy hit the expected mark, but Hernandez and Matt Morgan's First Blood match ended with fake plasma, a contendership clash between Mr. Anderson and Rob Van Dam went to a double count-out, and an enticing Ultimate X collision featuring three of the most exciting wrestlers in the company (and Robbie E) was guff.

The event is ultimately remembered for its closing minutes. A glass-eyed Jeff Hardy emerged from the back, clearly intoxicated, swaying like a river weed. The poor guy was a mess. He tripped on the steps, took an ice age to toss his t-shirt to the crowd, and was eventually interrupted by Eric Bischoff, who hastily informed a disgusted Sting of the situation, turned it into a No DQ clash on the fly, and told his World Heavyweight Champion to put Jeff away quickly.

88 seconds of 'wrestling' followed, with Stint forcibly pinning Hardy's shoulders to the mat. As the building filled with "this is bullsh*t" chants, he turned to the short-changed masses, shouting "I agree!" in response.

The darkest, most shambolic night of Hardy's career, but shame on the host of officials who allowed him to go out there in the first place.
