10 Biggest First Time Ever WWE Matches
6. Kurt Angle Vs. Shawn Michaels - WrestleMania 21
One of the finest aspects of the original brand split was that it threw up a whole host of cross-brand dream matches. One such match, arguably the best wrestling match of the entire brand split, saw SmackDown's Kurt Angle to take on RAW's Shawn Michaels. It saw two men with slightly contrasting styles come together to create something truly beautiful.
As Angle entered the world of professional wrestling Michaels was already in his first retirement, getting his life back on track and finding peace outside of the ring. HBK couldn't stay away forever, however, but when he returned in 2002 Michaels and Angle were kept apart by the brand split.
The brand split didn't stop them in 2005, though. Michaels eliminated Angle from the Royal Rumble, which lead to the Olympic Hero snapping and beating the ever-loving tar out of the Showstopper. A match between the two was set for WrestleMania 21 and the bout did not disappoint in the slightest.
Not only did we get an incredible match out of the feud, we also got Angle doing a wonderful rendition of 'Sexy Kurt', and that can never be taken away from us.
