Beating Alberto Del Rio, Apollo Crews and Sheamus on SmackDown, Cesaro was then instantly handed a shot at the WWE United States Title. He wasn't 100% healthy though, which allowed the Bulgarian to escape the show with the title still around his waist. As any good babyface would, Cesaro should only want another shot at the gold.

Saving Titus O'Neil from another humiliating beatdown, Cesaro stops Rusev and Lana from simply walking away in frustration and anger after they had started running away. Calling them back onto the entrance ramp, the Swiss Superman then says he's feeling a bit better than he did on SmackDown, and he wants another crack at the beast.

Ignoring this request, Lana speaks on behalf of Rusev and says that he's just wrestled. Retorting, Cesaro uses the fact that he had just worked a match on SmackDown, but that didn't stop her so-called man from taking advantage.

At Battleground, he'll be even more healthy than he is now, and he wants to prove that Rusev is a paper champion. Therefore, enough of the pleasantries, it's time to fight.
