10 Consistently Annoying Things WWE Does

4. Ignoring Repeat Matches

With five hours of primetime television to book every week, there€™s bound to be rematches in WWE. The problem is, though, the company doesn€™t treat them as rematches. The announcers basically pretend it€™s the first time we€™ve seen the match up, which is baffling. They expect our memory to be just as bad as theirs. It would be more interesting if we saw Luke Harper vs. Dolph Ziggler on Raw, and for the rematch the loser talks about how he€™s learned his lesson, or trained harder, or is more prepared this time and vows to win. Give us a small storyline to invest in. Instead, it€™s a bad case of deja vu. How many times did we have to watch The Wyatt Family take on The Usos? How many times have we seen Rusev defeat Zack Ryder or Jack Swagger? How many more times will we witness Sheamus take on Dolph Ziggler with no recognition of their past feuds? No other TV show ignores things more than WWE programming does. You can think of big time matches, like the announcers pretending that The Undertaker and HHH didn€™t battle at WrestleMania 17 when they fought twice more at Mania 27 and 28. At no point in the recent feud did even The Undertaker bother saying €œI already beat you once at WrestleMania. Remember 10 years ago?€ On a smaller scale, Big Show and Roman Reigns faced off at Extreme Rules recently. However, we€™d seen Reigns win cleanly multiple times against Show, yet no one bothered to bring that fact up. Unless WWE either doubles the size of their roster, or actually acknowledges things we€™ve seen, then this problem is only going to become worse.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
