10 Craziest Chris Jericho Stories You Won't Believe

6. It's A Pleasure To Be Here In Brazil...Not!

By 2012, Jericho had once again shook up his heel act, memorably returning on an episode of Raw to huge fanfare, only to brand the fans who were cheering him as sycophants and nothing more than people who pander to stars. It once again refreshed the Chris Jericho name, and made him out of the biggest, most obvious heels in the company. During a routine tour in 2012, WWE were visiting Brazil, a country well-known for how proud its people are of their nation. Patriotism is rife in South America, something Jericho found out to his chagrin when he tried to raise the ire of the fans in attendance at a house show. Raising the Brazilian flag high for all to see, Jericho let the audience cheer, all before throwing the cloth to the mat and stomping on it, booting the flag in the process. The uproar was immediate, and it must have dawned on Jericho himself that this was genuine, nuclear heat - these fans weren't mildly upset, they were furious, and the situation mirrored the much-publicised goose stepping incident involving JBL in Germany just a few years prior. Forced to apologise to the country of Brazil, Jericho was subsequently suspended by WWE for 30 days due to his actions. It seems heels can't get away with quite as much as they used to in wrestling!
