Another excellent ladder-based match here, except this one took things to a whole new level as it wasn’t merely a standard ladder match but a tables, ladders, and chairs match. It also happened to feature one of the most incredible performers in ladder match history in the eccentric form of Jeff Hardy, as he defended his World Heavyweight Championship against CM Punk in 2009.

It was a instant recipe for quality match and one that was brimming with chaos. Highlights included a splash from Jeff through a table on the outside (admittedly a tame one by his standards) and a superplex onto a ladder, delivered by Punk. But let’s face it, neither man will have come out of that one feeling particularly good.

That was followed by an absolutely monstrous Swanton Bomb from Jeff to Punk through the announce table (Spanish, of course) before a stretcher-bound Jeff returned to the fray, only for Punk to clobber him off the top of the ladder and reclaim the big gold belt.

The action wasn’t finished there, though. We then got some Undertaker hocus pocus wizardry as the lights went out, only to come back on and reveal that The Deadman had somehow switched places with the Rainbow-Haired Warriors!

‘Taker dished out a chokeslam to Punk to bring a close to a thoroughly exciting contest that was filled with more than its fair share of insanity.
